Where There is No Magic

I was speaking to a friend about what happens when the magic goes out of your relationship. Both of us agreed there is no fun, no electricity, and no spark. In other words, the relationship is already dead and the couple are just going through the motions.

Our conversation got me thinking about the general belief people have about death i.e. death occurs when the essence of the individual leaves their body and you can no longer communicate with your loved one.

Well, I beg to differ. I believe one could look very much alive and still be as dead as a dodo.

There are lots of people I see moving around, some even look physically attractive, yet when you look in their eyes there's nothing there; there is no life, no joy, no light, no sparkle, no love, no magic.

The magic I'm referring to is the Light within that we all are. The Light is what makes us love; what gives us joy and purpose; what makes life worth living.

I have dedicated my life to studying the Light. By "study" I don't mean reading hundreds of books, like I did at university, and then having to demonstrate my understanding by sitting exams or writing boring essays. By study, I mean observing the Light in all things. I had to start from the premise that the Light does exist, which was revealed to me during meditation. I now spend majority of my time observing the Light in action and documenting my findings in writing.

I believe by studying the Light, I am getting to know not only my nature but life, as I believe Light is life.

Where there is no magic, you're as good as dead.

What's the point of living forever when you're already dead?
