The other day while I was browsing at a bookshop, I was drawn to a book that talked about what it means to be lucky.
The next day, when I stopped off at the Internet cafe to pick up my emails, I noticed someone had left a comment to an article I had written a while back about luck. It was interesting that the comment was sent on the same day I had been browsing the book about luck. I made a mental note to respond to the reader's comment when I had more time.
As I was walking back from the Internet cafe, I noticed this man standing on the pavement. He said hello and I smiled at him.
"You're very lucky!" he said.
"Thank you," I said.
I was going to walk away but something told me to engage the man in conversation.
"It's funny you should call me 'lucky'," I said, "because I've just read a comment from a reader in response to an article I wrote about luck."
"That's because you are very lucky," the man said. "It hasn't always been that way for you though."
The man proceeded to describe my luck biography about how my family had been the reason why I've been unlucky, and how my luck will return in full force sometime this year. Of course, if I wanted to have luck at all time, he could assist me.
"Well, I believe in God and God is my luck," I told him.
"Maybe, God sent me to speak to you about luck," he said.
"Nah, I reckon you're only here because I've been thinking of luck and like attracts like."
As my friend wasn't having much luck hustling me he said, "God bless you!"
"God bless you too."
Of course I'm lucky! If I wasn't lucky I would have been taken in, good and proper, by the luck guru.
Be lucky, stay lucky!
